Vacu-Man has been part of Hamilton for over 45 years — and being part of a city means more than cleaning its ducts. From Rotary Club Christmas drives for inner-city kids to career days for students, here’s the community work the Oldfield family and the Vacu-Man team put their time and money into.
Rotary Club of Hamilton — Inner-City Kids
Vacu-Man is a corporate member of the Rotary Club of Hamilton, and most of our community work runs through it. We’ve sponsored the Christmas Stockings drive since 2019 — celebrating the season with over 700 inner-city children at Cathy Wever School — supported the Rotary Literacy Camp in 2024, and sponsored Blitz Day as part of the Tree of Hope campaign, bringing holiday joy to children and families in need.
Junior Achievement — World of Choices
We’ve sponsored Junior Achievement’s entrepreneurship programs in Hamilton for years. At the World of Choices career exploration events — 150 students at McMaster Innovation Park in 2023, over 400 Grade 7 and 8 students in 2025 — young people meet local business owners and explore what their future could look like. We keep coming back because business is a trade too, and someone showed each of us how it works.
Talking Up the Skilled Trades
Our president Adam Oldfield speaks regularly about careers in the skilled trades — as a Spotlight Speaker at the Halton Industry Education Council’s Skilled Trades Career Talk in 2025, and on Mohawk Radio’s Indy 101.1 discussing Vacu-Man’s goodwill work. He also makes guest appearances on TechTalk (900 CHML / AM 640) talking technology. The trades gave our family a 45-year business; we’d like more young people to see that path.
Part of the Local Business Community
Vacu-Man is a member of the West End Home Builders Association (since 2022) and the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, working alongside the builders and businesses of Hamilton, Burlington and Oakville. In 2023 we were honoured with the Platinum award for duct cleaning — thanks to our clients, home builders and restoration partners who voted for us.
