National Indigenous Day is an important day not just for those of Aboriginal status, but for everyone in Canada. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, and to recognize the unique challenges they face. For Vacu-Man, it is also an opportunity to celebrate our own history. We are a family-owned and operated company, and our co-owner Michelle Oldfield (Vice President) is a proud Aboriginal woman. National Indigenous Day is a chance for us to reflect on the rich culture and history of Aboriginal peoples, and to reaffirm our commitment to working together for a brighter future.

Meet Michelle Oldfield, Vice President of Vacu-Man. Michelle’s professional career started in the education system working as an education assistant and then becoming a teacher. She worked with students from kindergarten to grade 9 prior to covid. Michelle is a phenomenal business owner who now has several years experience operating her company. She knows what it takes to understand working with people and even more so ensuring that every customer we work with is treated like it’s our own home. Michelle truly cares about every aspect of her business and it shows in every interactions she has whether it be with customers, employees, or vendors. We are very lucky to have her as part of our team!
